The mantra of ‘Cine Srishti: Bhartiya drishti’ will enhance the contribution of cinema in nation building:-Arjun Ram Meghwal
Mumbai : May 13, 1952, The first day of the Parliament session for the country’s first elected government, which laid the foundation of the country’s independent life. Even today it is 13th May when Sanskar Bharati is organizing a two day event named Cine Talkies whose brainstorming will inspire the cinema of the country to contribute its maximum in nation building.Union Minister of State for Culture Arjun Ram Meghwal expressed this statement. He was addressing the inaugural session of the two-day Cine Talkies program organized jointly under the aegis of Sanskar Bharati-Mumbai University and Indira Gandhi Kala Kendra.
In his statement, Mr. Meghwal, while describing the Vivekananda and Maina Devi episode, also underlined the importance of audio-visual media. Vivekananda ji was a great man but he refuses to participate in a drama program of Khetri. They do not want to hear Mainabai’s singing, do not even come under the pressure of Raja Arijit Singh ji. Maina Bai challenged Vivekananda, why don’t you see the Nar and Narayan sitting inside me. He told that if someone suggested to Bapu to link the freedom movement with the film, he said that the people of the film cannot be trusted.Khwaja Ahmad Abbas wrote a letter to Bapu on this.

Cinema was earlier a medium of entertainment, but now it is a tool for creating ideas.
Earlier, the members of the advisory committee of this event, KV Vijendra Prasad, Jahnu Barua, Victor Banerjee, Vaman Kendra were felicitated. Apart from this, a book ‘Encyclopedia of Indian Cinema‘ written by Late Shriram Tamrakar, Film Editor of Naiduniya (Indore) was released.
Sachchidanand Joshi, Secretary, Indira Gandhi Kala Kendra, said in the inaugural session that this is an important event,Reading persists for 15-20%, listening is 30% and audio video has 60% effect.AV content has high brain retention.This is the era of making narratives, so it is necessary that our concern towards Indian cinema is our duty.It is not just entertainment but it is very effective medium to spread consciousness,This is an important academic event. Minister Arjun ji is also a famous folk singer.
The battle ahead is of ideas, like the army, and the intellectual society will have to fight the battle of Narrative openly.
Welcoming guests address, Dr. Suhas Pednekar, Vice Chancellor, University of Mumbai said that there is a need to produce films that inspire the new generation.He pointed out that the University of Mumbai has produced 6 Bharat Ratna and several Padma awardees.Keeping in view the growing influence of the audio-visual medium, the University of Mumbai will start courses related to it in the near future.
The program, being held at Mumbai University, was inaugurated by Union Ministers Arjun Ram Meghwal, Dr. Suhas Pednekar, Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi, Ms. Asha Parekh, Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, National President of Sanskar Bharati, Vasudev Kamat and Arun Shekhar.The team of Konkan Prant Sanskar Bharati presented the goal song.
